Be Part of the Show

Posted by chdot on July 28, 2006

The Edinburgh Evening News Cavalcade is an institution watched by around 100,000 people each year.

Last year TryCycling in Edinburgh organised a cycling extravaganza with a wide range of bikes and cyclists entertaining the crowd.

The event is on Sunday August 6th. YOU can come too. Organiser Maggie Wynn says “This year we will be even nearer the front. So meet up on Market Street, possible near Edinburgh Dungeon’s area from 1pm. Everyone needs to be in place by 1.30pm. We will set off very sharply at 2.30pm. The route is Market Street, Waverley Bridge, Princes Street, Lothian Road, Castle Terrace, Johnstone Terrace. Parade itself takes about 40 mins. Participants should wave to the crowd more than they did last year. I think we were all amazed to just be cycling along Princes Street in a massive procession!”

So bring a bike/trike/tandem/trailer/etc. and show the crowds that cycling is fun. (Children welcome with a responsible adult).
