If you’re planning to go to the ceilidh at the City Chambers tonight, unless you’ve got a ticket, you’ll be disappointed.

Mike Harrison is well known as an enthusiastic CTC activist (producer of the CTC Lothians web site) and also a keen sailor. On CTC business in South Wales last year he was involved in a serious (so far unexplained) bike accident. He was left unconscious and spend many months in hospital. He has now returned to Edinburgh and has to use a wheelchair.

As an experienced CTC cyclist he was initially sceptical that TryCycling would attract people for rides of only 5 to 10 miles. He was surprised, but happy to be proved wrong, and subsequently helped with a number of rides – often using his recumbent.

Lothian CTC has organised a Mike Harrison support fund, which will be boosted with the proceeds from the ceilidh. If you are going, the live music and hot buffet will contribute to a memorable evening. Don’t forget there is NO dress code – so no cycling or sailing waterproofs!
