Cycling can be solitary or sociable. So can computer use. MySpace, Second Life, Facebook etc., all places to spent/waste time. Now there’s meandmybicycle which claims to be “The UK’s first social network for cyclists”.

Anyone can sign up and join or start a group. There’s even one described as “Just a test group for anyone interested in http://CyclingEdinburgh.info – and to encourage other special interest groups”. We’ll see if anyone wants to joins it….

Or starts their own for any aspect of cycling, cycle use, cycle facilities etc., in Edinburgh.

I think that mantle perhaps belongs to Cycling Plus’s forum as it was, and ACF sprang up from many of the C+ contributors moving en mass. Certainly the latter is one of the most sociable networks for cyclists I’ve seen, although (IMO) that aspect is also its main weakness. I hadn’t heard of meandmybicycle before now, but I presume it’s more along the lines of Facebook et al rather than a forum.

Hi Mike, you can find the site here: http://www.meandmybicycle.com. I had been indecisive about whether to go with the .co.uk or .com but seeing as the site is attracting international interest I thought I would go with the .com. Hope you like the site.
    Cheers,
    Ben
